Welcome To Elmhurst Education

Providing comprehensive support to children, young people and families throughout personalised educational assessments, expert guidance and coaching.

We recognise the challenges many young people face while navigating the education system and understand the impact this can have on the entire family dynamic. Our commitment is to support parents in understanding their child, equipping them with the necessary tools to provide support both at home and school. We strive to work holistically with each child and family, recognising their unique circumstances and needs. Additionally, we collaborate with educators to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to create inclusive environments where all children can thrive.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a landscape where bespoke educational assessment and expert guidance are readily accessible to all, fostering an inclusive environment where neurodiversity is celebrated as a strength. We aim to encourage politicians to critically evaluate and reform the educational system to better serve the needs of young people today.

Lucinda Cook

BA (Hons), PGCE, PGCert NASENCO, PGCert SPLD, AMBDA, APC

Lucinda's life revolves around children and young people, not only as an educator, but as a devoted mother to two wonderfully neurodiverse sons. After completing her undergraduate degree at Durham University, Lucinda pursued her passion for education by completing a Postgraduate Degree in Education at Cambridge University. With over two decades of teaching experience, spanning the entire age range from 2-18 years, Lucinda has worked in both state and leading independent schools.

Lucinda firmly believes that unlocking a child's full potential hinges on a deep understanding of their individuality. She takes pride in her ability to discern how each child learns, adeptly identifying their strengths and any barriers to learning through comprehensive educational assessment. Taking a holistic approach, Lucinda works closely with children, young people, and families, offering support and coaching to navigate the educational journey. She recognises that unaddressed academic challenges can impact a child's emotional well-being and behaviour both at home and in school.

As a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Specialist Teacher, Specialist Assessor of Specific Learning Difficulties, and a devoted mother of two neurodiverse sons, Lucinda brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work. She prioritises building strong relationships with the families she works with, fostering an environment of approachability, empathy, and transparency.

Mary - Headteacher

We first met Lucinda when my son was in Year 3 and she was a breath of fresh air. She remains the most genuine, engaging, thoughtful and knowledgeable person we have met on our dyslexia journey, who brought the best out in our son.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lucinda to anyone looking for expertise in this area. She has a unique gift of being able to connect and support both children and parents.
